The first six pages of Nancy Anthracite's nineteen page "Install" document will get you up and running with a working GT.M environment, plus the innards of VistA accessible via a GT.M terminal. The remaining pages get you CPRS. My rewrite here is intended to work on Ubuntu Linux, and I've tested it on my own 8.04 Hardy Heron machine. This documentation is definitely a first effort. Hope it helps; feedback appreciated.
 
 
 
Start here; Nancy maintains this download server for VistA. Get the latest version of the instruction text (and also read through the install script for examples), then download everything to you need to install GT.M and VistA:
