: Route by which medication is administered (e.g., oral). The MEDICATION ROUTES file (#51.2) contains the routes and abbreviations, which are selected by each VAMC. The abbreviation cannot be longer than five characters to fit on labels and the MAR. The user can add new routes and abbreviations as appropriate.&lt;br /&gt;
